Delegates to the International Convention

The number of delegates will be determined by the number of members on June 1, 2006.  The following is the order of potential delegates with the runner-ups as alternates.

News to Use

PPL Montana

Negotiations are on-going with dates set for July 19th, 20th, and 21st.

Corette achieved VPP Star status June 9th.  On behalf of all of the staff, management and members of Local 44, congratulations to our brothers and sisters at Corette.

Asplundh Tree Negotiations

Proposal meetings are scheduled for Helena and Missoula July 23rd at 10:00 am at the Labor Temples.  Negotiations are scheduled for August 11th, 12th, and 23rd in Bozeman.  Opening letter is scheduled to be sent July 25th

ELM Negotiations

Opening letter is scheduled to be sent September 30th.  A proposal meeting will be scheduled the first part of September.

Marias River Negotiations

Opening letter scheduled to be sent December 15, 2005.  Ideas for proposals will be gathered at  September and November unit meetings.

Bresnan Communications and Line Clearance negotiations will be scheduled in the fall.

NorthWestern Energy

Three day apprentice school was held June 16th , 17th, with the Union school on the 18th.  Twenty-nine (29) apprentices attended.  The topic this year was "what can we do to improve the program?"  Many good ideas were presented.  The Union members of the JATC along with Business Manager Don Hendrickson will outline the issues and present them to NWE Management.

Medical Grievance - An arbitrator has been selected and September 21st is set to be the arbitration date.

 

Forty-Four Forum

As many of you know, Paul Oriet's fund raiser was a great success.  I would like to thank the helpers who took time off  from their  weekend to help put this together.

Hill County Negotiations

Negotiations were held June 22nd in Havre.  An offer was sent out to be voted and the ballots will be counted July 11th.

Mountain States Line Apprenticeship

The Committee met June 2nd.  Five day orientation was discussed for new apprentices.  Orientations are scheduled for the second week of the month.  The program is paying for rooms, based on double occupancy for those that have to travel, and lunch is provided.  Orientation is currently held in Colorado Springs, and soon in Montana.

Instructor Pay was raised with part-time instructors rates going to $34.00 per hour.

The Stan Dupree Training Center is tentatively scheduled for the dedication ceremony, Saturday, October 1st.  Be assured, we will keep you informed.

Local 44 By-Laws are now available.

Line, Tree and Gas Rodeo's will be on July 16th in Deer Lodge.  Local 44 Picnic will follow the Rodeo Competitions.  Event Judges are needed, if interested contact the Local 44 Office.

Local 44 Golf Tournament will be on August 20, 2005 in Helena.

No Scheduled Unit Meetings for the months of June, July, or August  to allow members to spend more time with family during the summer months.  Any unit desiring to have a meeting should contact the Local 44 Office and a meeting will be scheduled.
